Starting In 2004, Steve Lukather has been touring with primarily two “Luke” guitars; a black sparkle one and an iridescent red one. The only modification he’s made to his guitars is to have a Fernandes “Sustainer” pickup installed. I happened to see an iridescent red Luke at the Winter 2005 NAMM show and knew I had to have it. So, like all my other Lukes, my long-time great friend and client Dr. Jamie Balducci (an OB/Gyn doctor who’s also a monster “rock” guitar player) bought me this one for doing a great job on his tax return. Frankly, I would have preferred to just hang with him for a day at his workplace, but he didn’t think that was a good idea. I guess the red Luke with a matching headstock was a better idea…thanks Jamie; you rock!
