In the earlier days of playing and collecting guitars, the Fender Stratocaster was by far my favorite guitar due to its versatility in sound. But there were a couple of modifications I would always make whenever I acquired a new Strat – install a Floyd Rose Tremolo and a humbucking pickup in the bridge position. Then one day I came up with a novel thought: why not acquire a Fender Strat that comes stock with these two features? How novel. So I went over to my favorite local music store (LaSalle Music) and traded in a bunch of stuff and got me this fine guitar. It’s got a nice “spanky” sound (due to the maple fretboard) and plays great. I think it’s the “Ritchie Sambora” model Strat…whatever, it’s a great part of my Strat arsenal.
